ECTM is the commercial name of Mentes E Co Turísticos S.A., a management consulting firm registered in Costa Rica (Actividad económica 7020.0), specializing in revenue management, digital marketing, and hospitality technology for independent hotels, resorts, and retreats across Latin America.

What information we collect
We collect information in two ways: information you give us directly, and information collected automatically when you visit our site.
Information you provide:
- Name and job title
- Email address
- Phone number
- Hotel or property name and details
- Any additional information you include in your message
This information is submitted through our contact form and free revenue audit request form.
Information collected automatically:
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- General geographic location (country and city level)
- Device type, browser, and operating system
- Traffic source (how you found our site)
This data is collected via Google Analytics and is aggregated and anonymized. We do not collect or store individual IP addresses.
How we use your information
Information you submit through our forms is used solely to:
- Respond to your inquiry or audit request
- Schedule and conduct an initial consultation
- Send relevant information about our services if you have requested it
We do not use your information for automated marketing, we do not add you to mailing lists without your explicit consent, and we do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Third party services
We use two third-party services that may process your data:
Google Analytics — We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our site. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to track session data. This data is anonymized and used only for internal analysis. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Formspree — Our contact and audit forms are processed by Formspree (formspree.io), a form backend service. When you submit a form, your data is transmitted to Formspree's servers and then forwarded to us by email. Formspree's privacy policy is available at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.
Cookies
Our site uses cookies for one purpose only: website analytics via Google Analytics. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or any cookies that share data with third-party advertisers.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies will not affect your ability to use any part of this website.
Data retention
Inquiry and form submission data is retained in our email systems for as long as it is relevant to an active or potential client relationship. If you would like your data removed, contact us at web@ectm.cr and we will delete it within 30 days.
Your rights
Under Costa Rica's data protection law (Ley 8968 — Ley de Protección de la Persona frente al tratamiento de sus datos personales) and applicable international standards, you have the right to:
- Know what personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent for any processing based on consent
- Lodge a complaint with Costa Rica's data protection authority (PRODHAB)

Security
Our website is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are transmitted securely via Formspree's encrypted infrastructure. We do not store credit card numbers or payment information of any kind.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last revised. Continued use of the site after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
